Physical Inventory For Is Already Active

Real Support Issue

We are facing the following error while generating the Stock Adjustment ion MI01

(Physical inventory for S160 16LN SAM8580-1 1506 is already active)

Kindly help us on this to resolve the issue.

Solution:

If you simulate the error in MI01, you will get this system information:

Message No. M7700

Diagnosis

In plant S160, storage location 16LN, the material/batch has already been included in a physical inventory document. The physical inventory is active for this material/batch.

Procedure

Enter a different material or batch.

Do you want to display the physical inventory data for the material?

Do you want to display the physical inventory documents for the material?

Steps to rectify issue:

First check tcode MI22

Fill in the Material, Plant and Batch number if any to check.

Physical Inventory For Is Already Active

In many cases, user had already MI01 the same material and batch and that is why the system prompted the error.

User have to use MI04 to enter the inventory count and then MI07 to post the differences.

MI04 Quantity field will be grey in color if inventory count and post differences had been done.

Once user has complete the inventory count and post differences, they can then create a new physical inventory document without any issue.
