Customizing Of Investment Management

Integration of PS with IM is used to manage Budgets across Projects.

It is specially used when:
1. Several Projects split Budget.
2. If you want other plans which are not mapped using Projects.
3. Isolated consideration of individual Projects budget is not sufficient.

The basic flow goes in this was first the budget is allocated to the Investment Programs in IM, then that budget is split into different Investment Measures (Projects, IO or Maintenance Orders), which goes to the top level WBS element of the Project. Then that budget can be divided into lower level WBS Element.

Do the following to customize the SAP Investment Management:

  1. Create an investment Profile which will consist of Asset class for AUC like AC0031A or 4001
  2. Tick on create AUC automatically
  3. Click on line item settlement radio button
  4. Click on %age radio button
  5. Click on overall plan value
  6. Assign the number range to your AUC asset class
  7. Attach this investment profile to your project profile
  8. Create and release the project.
  9. AUC no. will be created against each released WBS
10. Book the cost on activities/WBS and run the period end closing process like result analysis, overhead calculation, interest calculation if any and than run the settlement (process type-automatic). By running the settlement (CJ88), cost will be moved from actvities/WBS to AUC
11. Once the project is completed, create a fixed asset, define the settlement rule and than again run the final settlement (process type - Full/partial)the cost will be moved from AUC to fixed assets
12. Start depriciating the fixed asset and get the depriciation benifits in your tax.
