Problem:

Splash screen on SAP GUI 7.20 - can it be disabled

I'm using the 7.20 release of SAP GUI for Windows having been involved in the beta test.

Is there any way to disable the splash screen when SAPLOGON first loads? 

In previous releases setting the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\General\Appearance\SplashOff or

HKLM\Software\SAP\General\Appearance\SplashOff

to 1 instead of 0 used to work, but seems to have no effect in 7.20

Solution:

The key you refer to is the small popup while connecting a slow responding system.

The key you want is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAPLogon\Settings"DisplaySplashScreen":dword=00000000

But always be aware, that these registry keys might always be changed. So they are kind of "unofficial" :-)
