Issue: Data Not Displaying in ST03

Problem Description

For the past month, I have encountered an issue where data is not appearing in transaction ST03 after performing a full operating system backup of the production server.

During the backup process, I stop the following services:

  • Oracle automatic services
  • SAPOSCOL
  • SAPPRD_00
  • SAPMMC
After the backup is completed, I restart all services. Initially, data appears in ST03, but after two days the problem reoccurs. Stopping and restarting SAPOSCOL and SAPPRD_00 temporarily resolves the issue, but it does not provide a permanent fix.

All SAP background jobs (pjobs) are running normally.

System Details:

  • Operating System: Windows 2003
  • SAP Version: 4.7 EE
  • Database: Oracle 9i

Possible Solution

1.  Verify Collector Jobs
  • Ensure that the job COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFORMANCEMONITOR executes report RSCOLL00 hourly.
  • Confirm that report RSSTAT80 is also executed every hour.
  • Maintain table TCOLL using transaction SM31. Enter “X” for every hour in the “Time of day” column for report RSSTAT80.
2.  Increase Statistics Record Limit
  • In transaction ST03, navigate to: Goto → Parameters → Performance Database → Modify Parameters
  • Set the value for Max. number of records cumulated per call to at least 10,000.
  • Save the changes.
  • If this value is already set or higher, proceed with step 1 to ensure RSSTAT80 is scheduled correctly.
3.  Reconfirm Parameters
  • Double-check that the parameter changes in ST03 are saved and active.
  • If the issue persists, monitor whether RSSTAT80 is consistently executed each hour.
