2. What are MSN20, MSN21 and MSN32 in relation to personnel actions?

These are feature which are used in the configuration of personnel Action.

MSN20 for withdrawal - The feature will have the return value 0 - Withdrawn will check if the pervious STAT2 is not equal to 0.

All the feature are related to the STAT2 field in Infotype 0000 - Action as it will determine the status of the employee.

3. Where do you define the action reason in the IMG?

In tcode SPRO

Goto path.

Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Customizing procedures -> Actions -> Create reason for personnel actions.

You can also make direct entry in table V_T530 via tcode SM30.

4. What is user group dependency of the action menu?

5. With a leaving action what is the employment status changed to?

6. What are dynamic actions? What can they trigger?

Dynamic actions are triggered by the system. They are result of some personnel action.  If you make a change (personnel action) to the personnel data of an info type that then has an effect on the data of a second info type, the system automatically displays the info type.  One of the main purpose of the dynamic action (of the system) is to have a consistent and coherent data.  These actions are started automatically by the system, unlike the personnel Actions which you start by yourself.  The best example is when you carry out an action, let’s say hiring, you need to populate a set of info types. Your initial entry of details in infotype 0000 is personnel action. When you do this system automatically displays next infotypes, which is result of dynamic action.

7. What is PAMA? What is M0001?

PAMA - Permanent Assigned Multiple Access. For networking your system.

M0001 - Feature used to set the Mail connection if anybody changed the infotype records, to whom you are going to send the mail and which text.

8. What are evaluation paths?

Using Evaluation Paths we can go through different objects.

In SAP HR system we create evaluation paths using Relationships (1001) infotype with objects. for example O-S-P represents relation between org.unit - position - person.

If you want to create O-S relation, goto PO10 and give your org.unit number and select relationships and create the relation with position.

9. What do you mean by planned times? Where are these stored for an employee?

Planned specifications for an employee's working time are stored in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007). However, there are often changes to the specified working times, for example, if an employee works overtime, does not come to work (due to illness, for example), attends a seminar, or works different times than usual. In addition, employees are entitled to vacation and possibly further training. This and other information is stored in infotypes in Time Management. The information from these time infotypes can be transferred and processed further in time evaluation and payroll, as required.

11. What do you mean by actual times? Where are these stored for an employee?

Actual times are  employee (check in / Check out) times.

12. What do you mean by deviations? Where are these stored for an employee?

Deviations are deviations to work schedule.

When you record only deviations to work schedule it is negative time mgmt. for e.g. you have work for 5 day from Mon - Fri. and if you deviate from this thru absence, attendance, substitution, overtime etc., those deviations only will be stored in Negative time mgmt.

Position TM stores all the timings of the person thorough Swipe cards, punches etc. and analysis is made based on his time events.

13. What do you mean by negative time and positive time? Where do you use time evaluation?

There are two different methods for transferring employee time data to the SAP R/3 System.

1. Recording only deviations from the work schedule.

Only time data that represents an exception to the employee's work schedule is recorded. You can include the most current data, such as employee illnesses, schedule and record substitutions, and enter annual leave for employees.

2. Recording actual times.

This method records all actual times, that is, all transactions such as actual working times, absences, and so on.

14. What is RPTQTA00? What does it do? What is RPTIME00?

This report helps in generating Time quotas for group of employees. RPTIME00 is the report through which time evaluation is done.

15. What is time management status 7? What is it used for?

If you use negative time mgmt. use TMS 7 (negative time mgmt. without payroll integration).
