How to setup the matchcodes for WBS?
Meaning of Matchcode A matchcode is a means of finding data records stored in the system. The matchcode is defined in the ABAP Dictionary in two steps: 1) You first define the relevant tables and fields for the search in a matchcode object. A matchcode object describes the set of all possible search paths for a search string. 2) You then create one or more matchcode IDs for a matchcode
object. A matchcode ID describes a special search path for a search string.
The matchcode ID defines the fields or field combinations to be used in
the search.
Maintain Matchcode You can maintain or define new matchcodes for project definitions and WBS elements with IMG Path: Project System -> Operative Structures -> Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) -> User Interface Settings -> Matchcodes for Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) Name of Activity - Matchcode for WBS elements - Matchcode for Project Definition
Pre-Configuration Activities: 1) Check whether the predefined SAP matchcodes meet your requirements. 2) If necessary, add more matchcode IDs to existing matchcode
objects or create new matchcodes.
Matchcodes Maintenance Please note that the maintenance of matchcodes requires technical knowledge of the ABAP/4-Dictionary. Therefore, leave the maintenance of matchcodes to your system administrator. Note that a large number of matchcodes can negatively affect system performance. Check which matchcodes you want to use for your area(s). You can deactivate matchcodes you do not want to use. Matchcodes are valid in every client.
SAP Standard Settings SAP has defined the following matchcodes for WBS elements: - Matchcode with identification (ID) "A" allows you to search by account assignment elements. - Matchcode with ID "B" allows you to search by billing elements. - Matchcode with ID "C" allows you to search using classification. - Matchcode with ID "K" allows you to search by WBS ID. - Matchcode with ID "P" allows you to search by description. - Matchcode with ID "Z" allows you to search by person responsible. |
