Author's Background
and Qualifications
Thorsten Lüdtke
is an independent SAP BI architect and founder of BIPortal GmbH. He specializes
in data warehouse architectures based on SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, and SAP
Data Intelligence. Thorsten entered the analytics field in 1997 as a MicroStrategy
employee, developing applications for business intelligence.
In 1999, he developed
the first SAP RapidMarts solution (acquired by SAP BusinessObjects) based
on SAP Business Information Warehouse 1.2B at Acta Technology in Silicon
Valley.
From 2002 to 2005,
Thorsten worked as an SAP BI consultant and SAP BW trainer for SAP in numerous
projects in Germany and the UK. In 2006, he started a joint venture with
Bill Inmon as a member of the advisory board and presented the product
(BI Master Data Management) at SAPPHIRE 2007 in Vienna. This event marks
the beginning of his company, BIPortal GmbH. After office hours, he enjoys
classic AI books from the 70s and 80s, as he believes that those early
concepts of symbolic computation can augment recent advantages in machine
learning. Thorsten studied computer science at the State University of
New York at Albany (SUNYA) and information systems at the Technical University
of Braunschweig (TUBS) in Germany. Since then, he's been looking for ways
to use machine learning in business analytics, as it is now easy to do
with SAP BW/4HANA.
Marina Lüdtke
is the managing director of BIPortal GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. Previously,
she worked as a sales representative for various chemical companies in
Germany, East Africa, and South America. Using advanced analytics, she
generated sales of over US$10 million annually. At BIPortal, she helps
clients achieve the same success with BIPortal's analytical tools and SAP
Analytics Cloud on SAP BW/4HANA. |
