Defining Bulk Storage Indicator

The special movement indicator divides materials of the same feature characteristics into groups.  Using the special movement indicator you can, for example, allocate one of the different movement types from Inventory Management in the Warehouse Management system.

This indicator is required to be defined If materials are supposed to be managed in Bulk Storage. The indicator describes the ability of a material to be stacked and is one of the main criteria used to define the structure of a bulk storage unit.

Every material used in bulk storage must be assigned a bulk storage indicator in the Material Master (MM01 / MMO2) "Warehouse Management 1" view. Materials that have the same stacking ability are assigned to the same bulk storage indicator.

If this indicator is entered manually on the initial screens of the goods movements in Materials Management (WMS parameter), the indicators from the material masters are ignored.
